Covid-19 feels like it has up-ended the world and while the impact on all of us is huge, the potential impact on fragile and remote communities could be far worse. With weak or non-existent health care facilities remote communities could be devastated by the pandemic. At the time of writing our information sources suggest that Covod-19 has not reached our partner communities - and we want to keep it that way. Our journeys using international flight routes could potentially be the route for infection to reach these remote communities and it is therefore not viable to travel until Covid-19 is well under control.

For this reason, we are sadly cancelling our journeys in 2020 and delaying trips to remote Dolpo until at least September 2021. We are also not taking any payments for journeys at present until the situation is clearer.

Nevertheless, please do contact us and let us know of interest that you have in our journeys. Remote communities will need the revenue and income offered by ethical and inclusive travel after what will have been a very difficult time for these areas. While we will never do anything to put rural communities in any danger from the pandemic, we also want to be at the forefront of safely returning to our partner communities and linking up with those who have become our friends, travel partners, guides, story tellers and sources of invaluable indigenous wisdom.

Our planned journeys:

• Silk trade and pilgrim routes of Southern Armenia: Our planned inaugural trip will now take place in May 2022

• Footsteps of Matthiessen's Snow Leopard: This unique will now take place in September to October 2021

• Dolpo: Remote Tibetan High Himalaya of Nepal: Journeys planed in 2022

• The Virunga Volcanoes of South West Uganda: This trip will now be finalised in 2021 with dates being announced in mid 2021. Our first journey is envisaged for July 2022
